We were joined by a multitude of crimson-clad college football fans heading south for their season opener. We hit a major city at - I kid you not - 5:00 pm. On a Friday. Of a holiday weekend. Which was also the first weekend of college football. And there is a lot of construction on the roads between home and my sister's house! (For the record, if our trip had gone according to plan, we would not have been in 5:00 traffic in a major city. We're seasoned road warriors who know better than that!)
I am convinced now that Bull has a mild case of motion sickness. He has gotten sick before during long road trips, and did this time too. He even told us it was coming! I think I will start believing him.
When we finally arrived at my sister's home, we were greeted by these beautiful girls

and the lone man of the house. My BIL and I have a new reason to connect now. We are both completely outnumbered in our households by the opposite sex. Only our dogs are on our sides!
We played and shopped and painted with pudding

and played some more

and watched football and really enjoyed just spending time together!
We also tried to get a picture of the four grandkids while there are still only four. This is the best we could do.
Mercifully, our trip home was incredibly uneventful, which is how we like it! We were home with plenty of time to spare to get kids in bed on time on a school night.
It was a great weekend!

Other than the ride there, sounds like it was a great trip!
This is one reason I love the Palmer family. You guys easily jump in the car with children and all and hit the road. None of this, "We can't drive further than 2 hours because we have little ones" stuff. You guys scoff at 10 hour trips. I credit it to the military in ya'll.
