Arrggghhh...

We have ticks (lots of them) inside our house. So, in addition to the exterminator coming this morning, I have stripped and washed every piece of bedding that we own (we have 4 beds in our house) and curtains. The dogs have been thoroughly washed, inspected and Frontlined. The exterminator sprayed our entire house, the yard and the flower beds. He said to look out for the Holocaust in 24-48 hours. That means that I can't have my house back in order (most of you are laughing right now) until Thursday at the earliest. I guess my house was due for some "Fall Cleaning." The weather has been beautiful, so we've been able to leave the doors and windows open to get the carpet to dry faster.
On a more positive note, Bull had his first Early Steps appointment this morning. We did lots of paperwork, and L, our case worker, observed him for a little while. Bull has a slight speech delay that we are working to resolve. He's had chronic ear infections for the last 1.5 years, ear tubes for 1 year, and a talkative big brother for his whole life. The best part is that this service is free as of right now (though that could change). He'll be going in for a hearing screening, and his first evaluation will be sometime next week probably. So, the ball is officially rolling!

geez. sorry about the ticks. i hate them more than fleas...at least fleas let go.

that's cool news about eli. a friend of ours had the same experience with her little guy (ear infections, talkative older sibling, etc.) but once they got the ear thing worked out, they can't shut him up! :)

Hey...our second child (Caleb) has speech delay issues as well. We had tubes put in his ears in August. He is slowly gaining more words. We've had a speech pathologist work with him (free as well) and he is slowly making progress. He too, has a talkative older brother....I just want to know what's going on in his little mild. I'll be praying for you all. Caleb will turn 3 in December. He just said his firt sentence last week.. "Mama, Ju (juice) please" Never thought those words would make me smile as much as they did. He said "shoe" for the first time today. The words are coming bit by bit.

Have a great day....sorry about the ticks.... :(
